The Bichone Frise is a smaller breed of dog weight around 15 pounds. It's appearance is significant  with its black nose and eyes and its curly white coat. A nice characteristic of the bichon frise puppies is that they are one dog that doesn't shed. However, grooming is required in order to remove any loose hair that their curly coats obtains. In order to maintain minimal dander, it is always recommended that you trim, brush, and bathe your bichon to keep them looking their best.

The average lifespan of a bichon frise puppy and dog is around 12-13 years. This is very similar to other breeds that are comparable in size. The longest lived bichon frise was 19 years.

One other major cause of bichon frise's deaths is autoimmune hemolytic anemia. If you own a bichon brise puppy, always be alert for signs of this condition. With AIHA, the bichon frise immune system will actually attacs it's own red blood sells. You will see your bichon frise have loss of energy, voiting, diarrhea, weakness, loss of appetite, rapid breath, yellow gus, and rapid breathing. If you do show signs of this symptom, immediately take your bichon frise to the veterinary clinic.
